John Godoy has practiced plaintiff-side employment litigation in California since 2008, representing workers in wage-and-hour violations, wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, and misclassification cases.
John was born in Michigan and moved to the East Bay when he was four. He attended UC San Diego and received a B.S. in Computer Engineering in 2003, then earned his J.D. from California Western School of Law in 2007.
Since 2010, John’s primary practice focus has been representing employees on issues of wage theft through the payment of improper salaries and the mischaracterization of work hours, as well as wrongful termination, retaliation, and other related issues. He has seen firsthand how unscrupulous employers attempt to take advantage of employees’ trust and lack of understanding of their legal rights to evade employment laws.
John has extensive experience practicing before both California superior courts and federal district courts, as well as before the Department of Labor Standards Enforcement.
