Patrick Luff

Patrick is a nationally recognized trial and appellate lawyer with a record of delivering high-impact results for his clients. His victories include a $15.4 million wrongful-death judgment and a precedent-setting federal appeal. He has also served in major leadership roles in complex, multi-district litigation, including as Co-Liaison (Lead) Counsel in Texas MDL No. 2021-41903, In re: Winter Storm Uri Litigation, and as a member of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in MDL No. 2974, In re: Paragard IUD Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 3037, In re: Recalled Abbott Infant Formula Products Liability Litigation, and MDL No. 3043, In re: Acetaminophen – ASD/ADHD Products Liability Litigation.

Before entering private practice, Patrick had a distinguished academic career as a professor of law, teaching legislation and statutory interpretation, civil procedure, and administrative law at the University of Oklahoma, Arizona State University, and Washington and Lee University. He was also a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, Germany. Throughout his academic tenure, Patrick became a nationally recognized authority on tort litigation, publishing influential scholarship in leading journals including the Connecticut Law Review, the Utah Law Review, and the Arizona State Law Review.

Patrick graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as Executive Editor of the Michigan Law Review. Following law school, he pursued doctoral work at the University of Oxford, focusing on the regulatory role of litigation.
