
Scott Weinstein was born, raised and educated in Florida. A second-generation trial lawyer, Scott began his trial career in 1986, defending insurance companies, corporations, hospitals and physicians in complex litigation matters including class action litigation. He built a successful consumer class action practice on the east and west coasts of Florida before joining the largest plaintiff’s law firm in America, where he founded the Complex Litigation Group, handling mass tort litigation, consumer class action litigation, government actions litigation, and False Claims Act (Qui Tam) litigation.
He was designated a Foreign Legal Consultant by the Law Society of Upper Canada handling complex litigation. He is nationally known in the areas of consumer protection, pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, civil rights and cases involving food-borne illnesses. He has recovered billions of dollars serving in leadership positions in consumer class actions in State and Federal Courts nationwide, Class Counsel in the largest Civil Rights case in history, as well as lead and other leadership positions in Multi-District Litigation.
Scott served as the CEO of the largest Plaintiffs’ firm in the nation, overseeing meteoric growth and success. He is a past president of the Lee County Bar Association and served as a member of the Florida Bar Board of Governors. He co-founded and served as President of the Naples-Fort Myers Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Scott is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell (R). Scott is admitted to practice law in Florida and federal courts throughout the country.
