On July 22, 2025, Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Company (“PIIC”) reported a significant cybersecurity incident to the California Attorney General’s Office (the “Data Breach”). According to the notice, the breach was identified following unusual network activity detected on June 10, 2025, which prompted an immediate internal investigation. PIIC engaged cybersecurity specialists to assess the scope and impact.
On July 9, 2025, the investigation was completed, and PIIC began to mail notification letters to impacted individuals on July 22, 2025. These letters include an offer of 12 months complimentary credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration through Kroll. PIIC is a privately owned insurance company headquartered in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania.
