​​​​​​​​On July 22, 2025, Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Company (“PIIC”) reported a significant cybersecurity incident to the California Attorney General’s Office (the “Data Breach”). According to the notice, the breach was identified following unusual network activity detected on June 10, 2025, which prompted an immediate internal investigation. PIIC engaged cybersecurity specialists to assess the scope and impact. 

On July 9, 2025, the investigation was completed, and PIIC began to mail notification letters to impacted individuals on July 22, 2025. These letters include an offer of 12 months complimentary credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration through Kroll. WHAT INFORMATION IS INVOLVED IN THE PHILADELPHIA INDEMNITY INSURANCE COMPANY DATA BREACH?

PIIC has revealed that the following information was accessed in the breach: 

  • Full names
  • Dates of birth 
  • Driver’s license numbers

We are actively monitoring for any updates and will provide more specific information as it becomes available.

Businesses are required to secure this information or risk facing statutory penalties, among other legal penalties.
