On October 10, 2023, Simpson Strong-Tie Co. Inc. (“Simpson”) discovered unauthorized access to its system. Subsequent investigations confirmed that Simpson had experienced a cybersecurity incident (“Data Breach”) during October 9 to October 11, 2023. As a result of the Data Breach, certain personally identifiable information (PII) stored in Simpson’s systems was accessed and acquired by an unauthorized party. On March 19, 2024, Simpson began the process of notifying individuals whose information might have been impacted.
Simpson, headquartered in Pleasanton, California, is a wholesale building materials company. The company’s market capitalization is $6.1 billion, and it employs over 5,000 people across global operations.
Publicly accessible information indicates that around 5,570 individuals have been impacted by the Data Breach. Simpson has not yet released any additional details about the incident.
