Derek Casey is a California attorney with nearly a decade of legal experience representing clients in personal injury and criminal defense matters. Raised in Modesto, California, Derek developed a strong commitment to serving his community from an early age, a value that continues to guide his legal practice today.
Derek graduated from Grace Davis High School in Modesto before attending the Ray Simon Criminal Justice Training Center, where he earned a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certificate. He subsequently attended Modesto Junior College, earning an Associate Degree in Transfer Studies, and later graduated from California State University, Stanislaus with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
Pursuing his passion for the law, Derek attended Lincoln Law School from 2012 through 2016, earning his Juris Doctor degree. After successfully completing the California Bar Examination in July 2016, he was admitted to the State Bar of California in December 2016.
Prior to entering private practice, Derek gained valuable experience in public service. He worked with the Modesto Police Department and later with the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office, providing him with firsthand insight into law enforcement procedures and the criminal justice system.
Since becoming an attorney, Derek has developed legal education, knowledge, and experience in civil litigation and criminal defense. Throughout his career, he has devoted the majority of his practice to representing injured individuals in personal injury matters while also accumulating approximately four years of criminal defense experience. This combination of practice areas has provided him with a well-rounded perspective on advocacy, negotiation, and litigation.
