(Belden) publicly announced a data security incident that exposed the personal information of current and former employees, as well as some business partners. On November 12, 2020, Belden detected unusual activity on its company servers resulting from an intrusion by an unauthorized third-party who accessed their systems and copied data files.

Compromised confidential information includes:

  • Names
  • Dates of birth
  • Business partner bank accounts
  • Business partner taxpayer ID numbers
  • Bank account information (for North American employees on payroll)
  • Email addresses
  • Home addresses
  • Other employment-related information
  • Government-identification numbers, including Social Security numbers

Belden claims to have notified law enforcement and stopped further unauthorized access of personal data on their servers. The company is offering two years of credit monitoring and identity protection services to affected individuals.
