On November 24, 2020, global network device manufacturer Belden, Inc. (Belden) publicly announced a data security incident that exposed the personal information of current and former employees, as well as some business partners. On November 12, 2020, Belden detected unusual activity on its company servers resulting from an intrusion by an unauthorized third-party who accessed their systems and copied data files.

Belden claims to have notified law enforcement and stopped further unauthorized access of personal data on their servers. The company is offering two years of credit monitoring and identity protection services to affected individuals. Founded in 1902, Belden currently employs 9,000 people. Corporate headquarters are located in St. Louis, Missouri with manufacturing facilities in North and South America, Europe, and Asia. The manufacturer makes networking, audio and video cables, routers, firewalls, networking racks and cabinets, as well as various cable adapters. Annual revenues are estimated at $2.5 billion.
