Meet Our Staff

The staff at the Arnold Law Firm are very special and talented people.  They take pride in their jobs and enjoy working with the attorneys and their clients.

In addition to working together, they enjoy going to community and charity events such as Walk For Thought, The Race For The Cure, and many other events.

Kelley Anderson-Atkins inherited her love of the law from her late father, who passed away when she was just eleven years old.

With the support and encouragement of her mother, she decided to pursue her paralegal certification with MTI College.

Brenda Balderas was born in Durango, Mexico, and moved to California with her mother at the tender age of three.

Ms. Balderas moved to Sacramento after completing her degree and accepted an administrative assistant position at the Arnold Law Firm. She enjoys the fast-paced environment of working in the legal field.

Joy Davis grew up in the California Delta, living in many places along the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers. In 1990, she married her husband, Scotty, and moved to Sacramento.

Mrs. Davis began working part-time as a legal secretary at age 16 and eventually earned her legal assistant certificate in 1997. She joined the Arnold Law Firm in 2002, working as a paralegal and as the IT Manager.

Anna Figueroa finished American River with an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies in May of 2020. While she was in school and prior to working at the Arnold Law Firm, she worked at another firm as a receptionist and moved up to legal assistant, and eventually a paralegal for a little over three years. 

Hugo Flores-Nava was born in Cuernavaca, the capital of Morelos, Mexico. When he was just a year old, his family moved to San Diego, California, where he was raised along with his four siblings.

2018 brought Mr. Flores-Nava further north to Sacramento. He joined the Arnold Law Firm as a pre-litigation assistant to Karen Lee and Gonzalo Sandoval. He is grateful for the opportunity to work with and learn from such experienced individuals as he continues his career in personal injury law.

Melissa Gillet was raised in Stockton, California, and attended St. Mary’s High School, where she played volleyball, basketball, and softball. She graduated from San Joaquin Delta College with honorable mentions, receiving a Certificate in Law Enforcement and four Associate Degrees: Social & Behavioral Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Teacher Education, and Law Enforcement Associate in Science.

Melissa Gillet currently works for the Arnold Law Firm as a Legal Assistant. Ms. Gillet is also a full-time student at California State University, Sacramento, where she was accepted into their Criminal Justice Program. Her goal is achieving a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice before attending law school.

Born in San Francisco, Sandra Kraft is native to northern California. She was raised in Clayton, a small town in Contra Costa County. She graduated at the top of her class at Clayton Valley High School, and was recognized for her efforts with helping other students and school staff.

Upon relocating in Sacramento from the Bay Area in 2018, Ms. Kraft joined the Arnold Law Firm as our receptionist. She brings her bubbly, upbeat charismatic personality, love of helping people, ability to multi-task and impressive attention to detail to her work.

Laura Maldonado has worked in the legal field as a case manager for eight years now, primarily in personal injury. She also has experience with family, real estate, divorce, landlord/tenant, immigration and criminal law. All the legal knowledge Laura has acquired has been on the job. She was a Notary Public in New York and is currently working on becoming one in California as well.

Dianne McDaniel brings more than 20 years of bookkeeping experience to the Arnold Law Firm, gained from working in various industries, such as non-profit entities, the Florida Public School System, and a Workers Compensation Legal Firm. Ms. McDaniel has an excellent eye for detail, provides structure to daily functions and responsibilities of the accounting department, and unparalleled organizational abilities.

Due to both her father and ex-husband being enlisted in the United States Air Force, she has lived in Florida, New Jersey, California, and even Germany. She is a mother of two and a grandmother of four.

Sue McManus was born in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, and raised on an 80-acre cattle and horse ranch. She learned at an early age the meaning of hard work and work ethics.

In 1972, her family moved to Beckley, West Virginia, where she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. During that time, she worked for the Raleigh Register and Beckley Post Herald newspaper company, traveling more than 300 miles a day to deliver newspapers to more than 500 customers.

Ms. Morales then spent more than three decades with another firm in New Jersey, where she worked in several practice areas, including real estate transactions, bankruptcy, personal injury, and class action suits against mortgage and title companies.

This year, Ms. Morales relocated to the Sacramento area to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law, and young grandson. Ms. Morales joined the Arnold Law Firm in 2020 as a legal assistant for John Stralen, Andrew Minney, and Gina Bowden.

Javier Ruvalcaba was born in Mexico and moved to Sacramento as a young child. He comes from a large family with two brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Ruvalcaba worked in the financial field for 15 years as a loan officer and senior account executive in retail and wholesale mortgage lending. After the last mortgage industry crash, he decided to change career paths to a local workers’ compensation law firm where he worked in accounting for more than seven years.

Gonzalo Sandoval was born in Santiago, Chile, and came to the United States in 1976. He attended schools in Florida and Alaska before settling in Sacramento and earning a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the California State University. He also obtained a Juris Doctor in 2011.

Dominic Sandoval graduated from Del Camp High School in 2014 and went to American River College until early 2018. While exploring different career paths in his first two years of college, he became interested in politics and research and transferred with an Associates Degree in Social Sciences to California State University in Sacramento in the fall. In the spring of 2020, Dominic graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science & Journalism.

Frances Siria is a native of Northern California. She grew up in Silicon Valley during the emerging of the tech industry. Being in and around the booming technology and digital communications industry has always stuck with her. Frances started her professional career in the San Francisco area, working with the buying offices of the major retailers as a national accounts sales and merchandising representative.

Larisa Stepanchuk was born in Zinkivtsi, a small town in Ukraine. In 1995, she and her family moved to the United States in search of better health care for her severely ill mother. They settled in Sacramento. After graduation from high school in 2002, Ms. Stepanchuk attended Fresno Pacific University, a Christian liberal arts institution. She moved back to Sacramento in 2004, continuing her education at American River College.

In 2006, Ms. Stepanchuk joined the Arnold Law Firm as a receptionist and was soon promoted to a legal assistant position.

One of ten children, Olya Velichko was born in Lutsk, Ukraine. Her family came to the United States in 1996, seeking improved freedom and opportunities and settling in Sacramento.

Ms. Velichko joined the Arnold Law Firm in 2018, bringing her warm personality and attention to detail to her file clerk and receptionist duties.

Janay Watson joined the Arnold Law Firm in 2021, as an Intake Specialist, to offer her a new career path in the legal field. Before that, she was an early childhood educator for 12 years. She brings her compassion for people to her everyday interaction with new clients as an Intake Specialist at Arnold Law Firm.
