On June 22, 2020, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) discovered that an employee email account was accessed by an unauthorized party on March 3-4, 2020 as a result of a phishing scam. Phishing is a form of online fraud involving misleading, official-looking emails that provoke individuals into sharing confidential information, such as passwords.
On July 22, 2020, IIN notified more than 11,000 students who were affected by the security incident. Potentially exposed personal information may include:
IIN is offering a year of identity monitoring to affected individuals and advises taking precautionary measures, such as checking credit reports and account statements for fraudulent or suspicious activity on a regular basis.
