Samantha L. Munroe

Ms. Munroe was born in Toronto, Canada, and moved to the United States with her family as a child. She is a graduate of St. Francis High School in Sacramento. Later, she received her B.A. from UC Berkeley in 1995, and her Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2008. Ms. Munroe then pursued additional legal training, studying Global Arbitration Law & Practice at Queen Mary, University of London, and earning her Advanced LL.M. in European & International Business Law at Leiden University in 2010.

In 2010 Ms. Munroe completed an internship at the International Court of Arbitration, part of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, France, while writing her LL.M. thesis. After finishing her internship and thesis, Ms. Munroe returned to the Netherlands to begin work. First, she completed a second internship at Conway & Partners, a Rotterdam law firm with both U.S.-trained and Dutch attorneys practicing business law and international commercial arbitration. Then Ms. Munroe moved to Eurojust, a European Union agency, where she co-edited a book on EU data protection law & policy.

Ms. Munroe joined The Arnold Law Firm in August 2011. She works primarily with Mr. Callahan in the Qui Tam/Whistleblower section.

Outside of the office, Ms. Munroe is active in several legal organizations. She holds two leadership positions in the ABA Section of International Law for the 2011-12 Section year: as a Vice Chair of the Law Student, LL.M. and New Lawyer Committee, and as a member of the Steering Group for the International Arbitration Committee. Ms. Munroe is also a member of ArbitralWomen, California Lawyers for the Arts, Consumer Attorneys of California, and the Capital City Trial Lawyers’ Association.

In her free time, Ms. Munroe enjoys reading, working out, knitting and volunteering. She would also like to learn how to play classical guitar.
